This is translated from Spanish:

††Foto Sobre Foto†The project looks to create a space of communication
and exchange from a collective photographic production. The idea is to
take out pictures, rewind the rolls and to get them used again by other
people. It would happen, then, a second kind of exchange, in which
every participant will share itís results with the rest.†By this way we
propose a reformulation of the possibilities that offers the
photographic technique. The rewind process allows to go again through a
space apparently defined and closed. The photographic superposition
breaks up with† uniqueness , in terms of an indelible mark. In the face
of what is defined,† ambiguity† prefixes, as a result of the
simultaneous dialogue among what is covered and what is integrated.
Chance takes placed in stead of control. †This proposal of social
dialogue pretends to visualize the crossing of multiple realities and
points of view, as well as to promote ties that would be communication
generators. †We aspire† that this project would work as a multiplier of
experiences, taking the idea, repeating or reformulating it, expanding
itself in different directions.††

Instructions
1) Take pictures with a† photographic camera.
2) Rewind the roll, living the remains of the picture out of it. ( I
think he means to leave a tab sticking out so that someone can resue
the roll)
3) Send the roll to:
†Proyecto Foto Sobre Foto
Casilla de Correo n?7
Sucursal 23 San Cristobal
CP:1933
Capital federal
Argentina†

4) You will receive a photographic roll that was used by other person.
Charge your camera† whit it and take again pictures.
The result will be product of the recognition and interplay of views.
We invite you to share the pictures, sending them in a digital format
(JPG) to: arquitectura@arnet.com.ar . They will be moved up to this web
site www.ardearte.com.ar †where you will get to know other experiences.

This Pre-selection Jury will select 10 projects to participate in the Script Development Program. After completing the Script Development Program, projects will be evaluated by the Main Jury, which will select 6 projects to be presented at the CineLink Market.

Members of the Main Jury are internationally recognized film producers. The jury members will soon be announced. Last year the Main Jury members were Philippe Bober , â edomir Kolar and Behrooz Hashemian.

CineLink Script Development Program

Projects selected by the First Selection Jury all participate in the CineLink Script Development Program.

The program is concieved as two separate, 5- and 3-day sessions, with a month-long intermediate period reserved for script re-writes.

Script advisors at the first CineLink Script Deveopment Program were Gareth Jones, Franz Rodenkirchen and Srdjan Karanoviç.

CineLink Market

This three-day event, which will take place during the 10th Sarajevo Film Festival, hopes to offer highly favorable and productive opportunities for authors and producers, as well as for distributors and representatives of funds and foundations, to discuss the projects and to network. Besides pre-arranged meetings and presentations, the CineLink will provide time for socializing and the exchange of ideas between participants. The CineLink Industry Office offers unique insight into regional film production and an opportunity for new ideas and new regional collaborations.

CineLink award

After the CineLink Market and before the end of 2004, the Sarajevo Film Festival and the CineLink Advisory Board will award two of the CineLink projects with grants in the amount of €25 000 (for each project). No Name Exhibitions @ The Soap Factory
Seeking artist submissions for 2004 Season

Located in a 19th century Soap Factory on the banks of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the non-profit No Name Exhibitions, established in 1988, has earned a significant national reputation as an innovative and experimental venue for new work by emerging, contemporary artists.

Providing artists with 12,000 sq.ft of raw gallery space and the freedom to create site-specific projects, large-scale installations, as well as more traditional work, the Soap Factory maintains what was great about the alternative spaces of the 70's and 80's while embracing artists whose visions are very much of the 21st century.

The nationally recognized profile of No Name Exhibitions @ The Soap Factory is based on the excellence of its programs with emergent artists; and this excellence is based in large part on the quality of our submissions. While No Name Exhibitions accepts submissions on an ongoing basis throughout the year, we are looking for submissions for our 2004 season.

Deadline for submissions for the 2004 season is 29th February 2004. Submissions are reviewed in March 2004 for the 2004 exhibition season, which runs from April- October 2004. Artists selected for the 2004 Season will be notified in late March 2004.

Send no more than 10 labeled 35mm slides of your work, your resume and artist statement. Video on CDs or cassettes are accepted as well. Please include a description of the work you are submitting and/or proposing.

We also accept proposals for one-time screenings, performances and events.

Include a self-addressed and stamped envelope for the return of your materials. If SASE is not included, your work will not be returned.

No Name Exhibitions provides installation assistance as well as a stipend to artists and curators selected for our programs. In addition, we provide publicity, exhibition invitations, mailings, opening reception and artist talks. No Name Exhibitions does not insure artwork shown at The Soap Factory. There is no commission taken from any art works sold.

We are looking for curatorial or project proposals for our 2005 Season.

We only ask that you not be overly profane or vulgar, and that you keep in mind that this is a collaborative effort and you need to make your contributions coherent to the whole. So follow the attached link to The Story, and help us to create a tale that will be more enjoyable than the sum of its individual paragraphs.

venues across the East Midlands region and beyond. Providing artists and
audiences a like with 10 jam-packed days and nights of exhibitions,
performances, screenings and discussion.

Artists will be selected through open submission on the basis of
producing an exciting and diverse programme of work that is responsive
to the varied sites that make up the Festival. As the Festival seeks to
be responsive to artistsí proposals/needs, not all sites are finalised
but will fall within the following strands of activity:

- Central Venue - a building taken on by the Festival to act as the core
of the Festival, taking on a dual role as contact point and venue with
an ongoing programme of installed works, shows, performances and events
over the 10 days.
- The team will select, curate and install a series of solo and group
shows/events across several venues (BridlesmithGate Gallery, Lakeside,
1851 Gallery, Bonington Foyer, Powerhouse and the Basement with others
to be confirmed).
- This year the team is particularly keen to be responsive to artists
requirements and develop locating the relevant site for a work. Last
year specific works were housed in a range of outside venues, a library
and cafes. The Festival is already negotiating the use of sites ranging
from churchs to trams. If you have a specific site in mind for a
proposal please get in touch to discuss.

Submissions Surgery Day

If your idea doesnít fit within what we have described then please get
in touch to discuss how the Festival could accommodate or facilitate the
proposal, we will also have a day when you can come and talk to us:

15th March 2004 (12-6pm) Broadway Media Centre, Nottingham: Submissions
Open day - face to face surgery to develop proposals with the people who
will select and develop proposals on behalf of the Festival. To book a
place email festival@yah.org.uk

Submissions deadline 1st April 2004

with other groups and organisations to realise events across the region.
(If you are an artist or a group with an idea for an event you would
like to organise as part of the Festival please get in touch to

Central to our aims is that the artists involved get more than simply
the opportunity to exhibit existing work ñ through artistic and

truly exceptional ten days of activity. The world will be looking in, so

Date: 1.20.04
From: Rachel Greene (rachel@rhizome.org)
Subject: RHIZOME.ORG NET ART COMMISSIONS -- CALL FOR PROPOSALS

RHIZOME.ORG NET ART COMMISSIONS

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

+Deadline for proposals: February 15, 2004+

Rhizome.org is pleased to announce that with support from The Jerome
Foundation and the Greenwall Foundation, five new net art projects
(works of art that are made to be experienced online) will be
commissioned in 2004.

The fee for each commission will range from $1,500 != $3,500.

Rhizome.org is an online platform for the global new media art
community. We are committed to supporting the creation, presentation,
discussion and preservation of art that engages new technologies in
significant ways. We emphasize innovation and inclusiveness in all of
our programs and activities.

Artists are invited to submit proposals for works of art that focus on
the theme of games.

+Games+

For the last several decades, computer-based games, through their
ubiquity, economic influence, and innovative use of new technologies,
have become a significant cultural force, surpassing Hollywood films in
total revenues.

For a number of years, new media artists have been exploring the
possibilities of gaming platforms and creating art games that mix the
best qualities of commercial games != accessibility, interactivity,
user-engagement != with critical and progressive approaches to narrative
and aesthetics.

Artists seeking a Rhizome.org 2004 commission should propose projects
that will contribute to the art game genre, or reflect in some way on
the following broad interpretations of >=game<= found at Dictionary.com,
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=game.

Viewers/players should be able to access the projects online, whether by
playing them through a web browser, downloading software, or some other
use of internet technologies.

When evaluating proposals, the jury will consider artistic merit,
technical feasibility, and technical accessibility.

Although we will provide some technical assistance with final
integration into the Rhizome.org web site, artists are expected to
develop game-related projects independently and without significant
technical assistance from Rhizome.org. Commissioned projects will be
listed on the main Rhizome Commission page and included in the Rhizome
ArtBase.

+ How to Submit a Proposal +

The jury will only consider proposals from members of Rhizome.org. To
sign up for Rhizome membership, please visit:
http://www.rhizome.org/preferences/user.rhiz?action=1&new=user

There are two parts to proposal submission:

1. You must create a proposal in the form of a web site that includes
the following key elements:

+ Project description (500 words maximum) that discusses your projects
core concept, how you will realize your project and your projects
feasibility. If you plan to work with assistants, consultants or
collaborators, their roles and (if possible) names should be included.

+ You are encouraged, but not required, to include a production timeline
and a project budget, which should include your own fee. If you have
other funding sources for your project, please indicate this in your
budget.

+ Your resume or Curriculum Vitae. For collaborative groups, provide
either a collective CV or the CVs of all participants.

+ Up to 10 work samples. Note: More is not necessarily better. You
should include only work samples that are relevant to your proposal. If
your proposal has nothing to do with photography, dont include images
from your photography portfolio. Please provide contextualizing
information (title, date, medium, perhaps a brief description) to help
the jury understand what they are looking at. The work sample can take
any form, as long as it is accessible via the web.

When designing your web-based proposal, please note that the jury will
have limited time for evaluations, so try to make your site clear and
concise.

When your web-based proposal is complete, you are ready for Part Two of
the proposal process:

2. Submit your proposal for a Rhizome.org Net Art Commission via an
online form at http://rhizome.org/commissions/submit_2004.rhiz. We do
not accept proposals via email, snail mail or other means. Proposals
will be accepted until 5:00pm EST (thats New York time) on Friday,
February 15, 2004. The form at
http://rhizome.org/commissions/submit_2004.rhiz requires the following
information:

+ Name of artist or collaborative group + Email address + Place of
residence (city, state/province, country) + Title of the project (this
can be tentative) + Brief description of project (50 words maximum) +
URL of web-based proposal

+ Jury +

Proposals will be reviewed by a jury consisting of German critic Tilman
Baumgartel, artist Natalie Bookchin of CalArts, Rachel Greene of
Rhizome.org, Francis Hwang of Rhizome.org, and Japanese curator Yukiko
Shikata.

Rhizome.org members will also participate in the evaluation and awarding
process through secure web-based forms.

Winners will be contacted on or after March 15, 2004. Each winner will
be asked to sign an agreement with Rhizome.org governing the terms of
the commission.

+ Winners +

Winners will be announced on March 29, 2004. Commissioned projects must
be completed by October 1, 2004.

+ Questions +

If you have any questions about the Rhizome.org Net Art Commissions,
please contact Feisal Ahmad at feisal@rhizome.org or 212.219.1288.

FUSEDSPACE: Call for inspiring applications for new technology in the public domain

Information and communication technology have fundamentally changed our relationship with public space. Technology has not only changed the way we use public space, it also has brought about its virtual expansion. Through technological innovations like the Internet, text messaging, mobile (tele)communication, intranet and gps we can freely share information and develop a community life on the web.

Do these developments still offer unknown possibilities in favor of the public domain? Do you have an idea or proposal through which technology will make possible other interactions with the public domain, which will shed new light on it or in any other way will bring about innovation? Then enter the FUSEDSPACE competition.

FUSEDSPACE is an international competition for ideas on inspiring applications for new technology in the public domain.

We call for submissions

* that succeed either in increasing or simplifying the accessibility of virtual public spaces.

* that (by means of hardware or software) succeed either in making use of or increasing the public potential of the new media.

* that (by means of hardware or software) develop facilities which generate or enhance ësocial coherenceí.

* that stimulate or define the debate on the newly formed public domain.

* that search for modifications to utilities that predominantly are used commercially, and that can broaden cultural and social perspectives in the public domain.

The total prize amounts to 17,500 euros. A number of nominees will be invited to take part in an implementation phase in connection with DEAF (Dutch Electronic Art Festival) 2004.

Submission fee is 50 euros. The competition is open tot artists, architects, designers, students and anyone who is interested in the subject. Proposals can be submitted from 27 January until 31 May 2004. The winners will be announced on 16 July 2004.

FUSEDSPACE is an initiative of Stroom (The Hagueís center for visual arts), InformatieWerkPlaats, SKOR Foundation for Art and Public Space and Premsela (Dutch design foundation) in collaboration with V2_ Institute for the Unstable Media, DEAF (Dutch Electronic Arts Festival) and Doors of Perception.
