LTTR calls: and we ask, “do you wish to direct me” (1)
For issue 4 the LTTR collective relinquishes poetic mandates in favor of an enunciative possibility. we sneak seek your agency in troubled times of vapid vocabularies and encourage agonistic positionalities
• let us be directed by this community.
• drop your load in the new issue.
• elegantly propose your terms of engagement.
• be a bossy bottom.
Call back with bravado! submit to LTTR with a response, proposal or completed project for inclusion in the fourth coming of the explicitly feminist genderqueer independent art journal.
DEADLINE is MAY 15th to:

questions info@lttr.org
and www.lttr.org for information on where to find LTTR in your neighborhood
ABOUT LTTR:
The annual queer feminist art journal LTTR was initiated by artists K8
Hardy, Emily Roysdon, and Ginger Brooks Takahashi in New York in 2001 with
the first issue, whose title was an acronym for Lesbians To The Rescue. In
2005, Lanka Tattersall and Ulrike Müller joined as editors. In addition to
the journal, LTTR initiates events, organizes exhibitions, and supports and
documents the work of a community of critical thinkers who reject absolute
self-definition and identification. In Summer 2004, in conjunction with the
release of its third issue Practice More Failure, LTTR organized Explosion
LTTR at Art in General, a dynamic month-long series of events, collaborative
projects and exhibitions that celebrated and supported an international
community of queer and feminist artists. LTTR projects have also been held
at Cubitt Gallery, London, England, LACE in Los Angeles, The Kitchen, New York, and Andrew Kreps Gallery, New York.
FOOTNOTE:
1. "Do you wish to direct me" is a command pirated
from the 1973 Lynda Benglis video "Now." She replays the image of
herself on a monitor behind an image of herself on a monitor behind
an image of herself ... asking and declaring "Now?" "Start the
camera!"... self-commanding, self-manipulating, self-touching, a
self which is not herself at all... Challenging notions of
agency, temporality and polymorphous eroticism....the collapse of
'you' and 'me' into a colored field of layered feedback.

INTERNATIONAL DIGITAL ART EXHIBIT
The Centro Pablo calls on artists from foreign countries to participate in the International Digital Art Exhibit that will be held at the same time of the National Digital Art Exhibit. Various artistic views within this expressive modality will be brought together, thus facilitating debate and considerations on their languages and poetics.
This year the International Digital Art Exhibit will accept proposals for the category of Printing Works. The art pieces must have been created using digital tools and reproduced by any printing machine.
Each participant may send up to three works of any size. The works initial inscription will be accomplished by filling and sending the form appearing in the following Internet address: www.centropablo.cult.cu/form/formularioviisalon.htm

These works may be found at the Sixth Digital Art Exhibit Portal, developed by the Centro Cultural Pablo de la Torriente Brau and the ENET / ETECSA Cubasí Portal.
The admission jury will work on the curatorship of the submitted art works that will be included in the Jury Selection Exhibit and the Participants Exhibit to be shown through June and July in cultural centers of La Habana Vieja.
The works will be shown also in the web site of the VII Salón Internacional de Arte Digital (Seventh International Digital Art Exhibit), that will be developed by the Centro Cultural Pablo de la Torriente Brau and the Cubasí Portal of ENET / ETECSA by June, 2005.
The Art Exhibit cannot return the art works submitted for consideration and requests participating artists to donate them for future non-profit exhibits and showings.
The International Exhibit will also include a video section to be shown in Centro Pablo, the Office of the City Historian, and ICAIC. These shows, that will include programs submitted by cultural centers and art schools of several countries, will be announced by May, 2005.
